CrossFit Life!

Life has gotten a little crazy since my last posts.... To introduce myself I am Valorie Williams and I met my husband in SouthEast Texas. We lived the sweet little life where we had good solid jobs and a cute little house. One day we decided that we wanted more of an adventure. So we sold our house and moved to Northern Utah to open up our very own CrossFit. Life has been a whirl wind ever since. I am going to start sharing what life is like running and owning your own CrossFit gym. And if many of you might know or have experienced this then you will know that in the beginning many of you have lived in your own gym. That is our life right now.
Some people say these are the moments that will make great stories from here to come. I am hoping to make great stories today but almost is very excited about expanding our business someday and finding another cute little house of our own!

So today is a new beginning. Many of you might know the experience of starting over in your workout routines. Many of you might think that you can just jump right back in where you left off. We have some members that leave for a few months and are very frustrated to find out all there max numbers have been erased. This is done for a reason. I have recently bruised my chest bone and then got very sick so I am a part of that large crowd that through one life event after another have been lacking in the fitness area. So I am finally starting to feel better and have erased all my Max's and am ready to train again! So come train with me!
Today we did 5 Rounds of OH Press and Jump rope. I was very winded but exhilerated to only scale back a bit on the OH Press weight but I was definitely already feeling the soreness before the workout was over. I guess I will let you know tomorrow how my shoulders have held up!

My Life!

Cledus, Daisy and I at the park!

One of those days where Scott was somewhere else I took the opportunity to try out a park. One of my old co-workers animatedly exclaimed that SouthEast Texas offers amazing running trails and huge parks. This was the only park he could provide for an example so I finally went to see the amazing hiking trails and outdoor adventure. What do you know I was surprised. It was located in the outskirts of the ghetto, I was the only white person there, cops circled the park more times than I felt comfortable and there was a noise consistent throughout the day that resembled distant gun shots that made Cledus and Daisy so nervous we cut our time short. Well lets just say we weren't holding our breath to get Scott and make a family day at the park. At least we got some enjoyable pictures. Oh ya and I saw a tree tipped over and thought it was teenagers so I picked it back up to rebury it and whammy ants all over me and crawling up my legs. An ant pile is what killed and tipped the tree over. Ugh nature.
